Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet, hands and face correspond with different areas of the body.  Reflexology works by manipulating and stimulating specific reflex points.  These points correspond to different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically to treat the whole person not just symptoms.  Reflexology aims to optimise both physical and emotional health and is a safe, natural, holistic treatment that helps to balance and harmonise the body being beneficial to all ages.

Reflexology may bring relief to a wide range of conditions by enhancing wellbeing, improving relaxation and sleep, improving energy levels and improving circulation.

The origins of reflexology can be traced back to Egyptian, Chinese and Indian ancient cultures.  American Dr William Fitzgerald founded zone therapy and worked closely with Eunice Ingham who developed the alternating compression technique into Reflexology.  The main pioneer of Reflexology in the UK was the late Doreen Bayly who introduced the method in the early 1960's.

I hold the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology taught at West Shires School for Complementary Health.

What to expect when you book an appointment

Appointments can be booked via email, Facebook, Instagram or by phone and will be followed up with a confirmation email containing full details about your appointment.

What to expect during a treatment

A confidential consultation is taken at your first appointment.  Footwear is removed and you will be seated in a reclining chair.  I begin the treatment by washing the feet with a warm flannel followed by applying lotion.  I then carry out relaxation techniques before working the reflexes which correspond to all systems of the body mapped out on the feet.

Post Treatment & Aftercare

Following the treatment you will be encouraged to rest and drink water to aid the detoxifying process. Full aftercare advice will be provided. The effects of reflexology are cumulative and full effects may not be seen until you have had four to six sessions.

Reflexology never claims to diagnose, prescribe or cure illnesses but it can help reduce everyday stresses and strains, aiding relaxation and revitalising energy levels
